Start Up/Weekly Maintenance Guidelines

BaquaSpa

Fresh Fill (start-up)

  1. Check your pH level and balance. (7.2-7.8)
  2. Check your Total Alkalinity level and balance. (80-120 ppm)
  3. Check your Calcium Hardness level and balance. (300-400 ppm)
  4. When adjusting pH, total alkalinity and calcium hardness refer to the back label of the coordinating chemical bottle to calculate exact measurements to add in order to achieve the correct levels.
  5. The next 3 steps are performed 15 minutes apart from each other with circulation on and aeration off (if possible).
  6. Add 1 oz. of Waterline Control per 100 gallons of water. (ex. 350gallons = 3.5 oz)
  7. Add 2 oz. of Oxidizer per 100 gallons of water. (ex. 350gallons = 7 oz)
  8. Add Sanitizer w/ stain and scale next. Refer to bottle for correct dosage per gallons of water.

Regular Spa Care (weekly)

  1. Regularly test water for pH, total alkalinity, and calcium. *Follow step 4 in the start-up list.
  2. Add 1/2oz of Waterline Control per 100gallons of water 15 minutes before the Oxidizer.
  3. Add 1oz of Oxidizer per 100 gallons of water. (per directions on container).  Additional Oxidizer, double dosage, may be required if the spa is under heavy use (more than 3 times a week).
  4. Maintain a minimum 30ppm of BaquaSpa Sanitizer at all times. Check with BaquaSpa test strips, and only add Sanitizer after Waterline Control and Oxidizer have been added.
  5. Check your filters.  If they are dirty, use a filter cleaner and degreaser to clean them.  *Best results are achieved when filters are soaked in filter cleaner over night (make sure to rinse filters before placing back into spa).  Dirty filters may cause cloudy water, low jet pressure or FL1/FL2/FLO errors in hot tub.

IMPORTANT

*It is recommended to drain and refill the spa every 60-90 days or whenever an extreme water quality problem occurs.

**Chemicals can be added in either cold or hot water.  If water temperature is below 97°F, the Waterline Control will cause temporary cloudiness until water temperature reaches normal spa levels of 98°-104°F.
