Start Up/Weekly Maintenance Guidelines

OZONATOR

Fresh Fill (start-up)

  1. Check your pH level and balance. (7.2-7.6)
  2. Check your Total Alkalinity level and balance. (80-120 ppm)
  3. Check your Calcium Hardness level and balance. (200-400 ppm)
  4. When adjusting pH, total alkalinity and calcium hardness refer to the back label of the coordinating chemical bottle to calculate exact measurements to add in order to achieve the correct levels.
  5. Add 1/2oz of dichlor per 250 gallons of water. (ex. 500gallons = 1 oz )
  6. Install the Mineral cartridge into the filter per instructions.

Before Each Use

  1. Test the water with monopersulfate, MPS, test strips. If MPS is low, add 1/2oz of Spa Shock, MPS, per 250gallons of water. Repeat, if necessary, in order to achieve sufficient levels of MPS.

*This step can be prevented by maintaining MPS levels on a weekly basis.

Regular Spa Care (weekly)

  1. Regularly test water for pH, total alkalinity, and calcium levels. *Follow step 4 in the start-up list.
  2. Maintain correct MPS levels at all times per test strips.
  3. Shock the spa once a week or as needed. (per directions on container.  Additional shocking may be required if the spa is under heavy use (more than 3 times a week).
  4. Check your filters.  If they are dirty, use a filter cleaner and degreaser to clean them.  *Best results are achieved when filters are soaked in filter cleaner over night (make sure to rinse filters before placing back into spa).  Dirty filters may cause cloudy water, low jet pressure or FLO errors in hot tub.

IMPORTANT

*Do NOT install mineral cartridge until the spa water is clean and the pH, total alkalinity and calcium are balanced.

**The Mineral Cartridge MUST be replaced every 4 months.  Even though cartridge might sound full after 4 months, the chemical inside has been exhausted.

***Add 1.5ounces of dichlor per 250gallons of water to remedy problems which may occur. (Cloudy water, unpleasant odors, foaming, or eye irritation)
